I brought my cat in yesterday and was informed that whilst she stays overnight, she would be observed every hour, given pain relief and antibiotics, and her wound (a large dog bit part of her tail off) at least cleaned-up (sedation may be required). I called like they asked late at night and nothing had been done yet (six hours later) and was told that my cat would be treated shortly. This morning I called twice like they asked me to in arranging a pick-up time. When I picked-up my cat, I was informed that nothing had been done at all, asides from pain relief, due to my cat hissing and swiping (because she was clearly in distress and pain). My cat was only caged-up in her carrier or in one of their cages overnight. We were charged over $400 and for what? Our family is extremely disappointed in this center and would much prefer to travel far and wide for another vet clinic if we require a vet outside of the usual hours of our preferred veterinary practice. After leaving the AEC, we took our cat directly to our local vet, and she is now being cared for properly (and overnight). Tomorrow morning my cat will have part of her tail amputated as an urgent operation. Thank goodness for the support of our regular vet.

  • Thank you so much to Noam and the whole team who looked after my boy Flynn the husky after he became paralysed due to a tick bite. After seeing a vet at a different clinic a few days before when he started presenting symptoms the vet barely looked at him and said that it wasn't a tick. But the girls at AEC found the tick within minutes of me explaining his symptoms and saved his life. By the time we got him to the AEC he was struggling to breath due to the paralysis so they put him on a respirator for 24 hours and got him breathing again. As this was an understandably expensive trip to the vet (over $10,000) The vets always kept me in the loop and explained how much everything would cost as we went. I never felt pressured or judged and they said they understood if I couldn't afford to pay and would help my boy to be comfortable if we decided to stop at any point. I'm so glad i kept going because they saved my dogs life. He isn't just a dog to me he is my best friend and partner. I am a dog trainer who takes Flynn with me to work to show other owners just how good he is and how good their dogs can be to. I just couldn't think what I would do without him by my side after the last 8 years with him. Thank you so much team. You are all heroes!
